Radnor Historical Society Board Members, supporters, and partygoers alike were greeted with picture perfect weather as they arrived at Paramour at the Wayne Hotel for the 4th Annual Kentucky Derby Party this past Saturday, May 2, 2015.
Paramour’s resident Sommelier, Steven Gullo, was behind the bar pouring Mint Juleps and select wines by the glass for party guests who gathered on the Veranda, while Executive Chef Eric Goods’ assorted hors d’oeuvres delighted the crowd with passed selections including Prosciutto & Truffled Mascarpone wrapped Grissini, Tuna & Tomato Tartare Spring Rolls, Caramelized Onion & Poached Fig with Goat Cheese Pissaladière, Spring Pea & Crawfish Arancini with Tomato Compote, and Caviar Cream Puffs. After the savory came the sweets, including Pecan Derby Bites, Banana Caramel Gelato and Rhubarb Creamsicle Sherbet on house made waffle cones, Amarena Cherry & Burrata Cannolis, and Cotton Candy.
The breeze kept the Veranda balmy, but party guests were looking haute haute haute! Both men and women came dressed to impress in their finest Derby attire, but only a few lucky ladies and gents would take home the title “Best Dressed” for the Derby Contest. First, Second and Third Place winners were awarded prize options of $100 gift certificates to Paramour, Glenmorgan Bar & Grill, Jay Michael Salon and Sherman Brothers Shoes, as well as bottles of Bouvet Signature Brut or Elijah Craig Bourbon.
Anticipation and excitement grew as everyone gathered around TV’s in the Lobby Lounge, Bistro Bar, and out on the Veranda to watch the 141st “Run for the Roses”.
Paramour and the Radnor Historical Society would like to thank all of the party guests who purchased tickets to this charitable event. You helped make it another fun Kentucky Derby Party and a successful fundraiser, raising over $3,000 for the Radnor Historical Society.
