Friends and neighbors of all ages turned out Friday night to kick-off Wayne Hotel’s Old Fashioned Christmas in the heart of Wayne. The mild weather drew record crowds to the holiday tradition, and they participated in the array of festive activities leading up to the 19th annual lighting of the Wayne Christmas tree.

Leading the Ribbon Cutting is David Brennan, General Manager of Wayne Hotel. The 2010 Wayne Hotel’s Christmas Celebration got off to an early start with neighbors in South Wayne engaging in a friendly competition to decorate their homes in anticipation of the hundreds of people that would enjoy Friday night’s free carriage rides around their neighborhood.

Christmas Traditions Continue in the Heart of Wayne
The two-day community and family celebration begins Friday evening, December 3rd with festive caroling by the Valley Forge Military Academy Chorale and horse-drawn carriage rides along North and South Wayne Avenues and culminates with an exhilarating countdown of the lighting of the Christmas Tree at the Wayne Train Station. The countdown to the tree lighting will be led by 6ABC Action News Reporter Cathy Gandolfo. Kids will enjoy face painting and ornament decorating at the Radnor Fire House.

Friends and neighbors turned out in large numbers for the Wayne Hotel’s 2009 Christmas Celebration. It was indeed a magical weekend.
On Friday night, families bundled up and enjoyed horse-drawn carriage rides. Later all the kids gathered at the fire house to get their faces painted and to decorate their very own ornament.
